Hot.Ice asked: So I’m trying to loose at least 30 lbs. by September. Just last week I started eating nothing but fruit and maybe a turkey wrap every other day. I’m wondering if I continue doing this and go to the gym(45 min cardio, and daily rotaion of weight machines) everyday until Sept. Will i see any results? And what about if i just eat nothing but fruit everyday? And if it helps i also eat veggies too.

No. You need to eat at least 1,200 calories a day if you want to lose weight and so your body won’t go into starvation mode. When you don’t eat enough, your body shuts down. That means it holds on to ALL your stored fat and calories.
Even doing this for a few days…..you will be SO hungry. Then you will go back to eating and you’ll OVEREAT. Then you will gain MORE weight.
If you want to lose weight, do it right. Try eating 6 small meals a day instead of 3 bigger ones. That way, your blood sugar will be stable (and you won’t get so hungry and overeat) and you’ll be able to exercise because you will have the energy to do it.
People gain weight because they overeat and don’t exercise. Then they think NOT eating and over exercising will take the weight off immediately. It doesn’t work that way.
if u go on a only fruit diet u will actually excriment more and yes, u will loose weight!! Good Luck
yeah it will work trust me. but always add protein in such as eggs and meat
peoples obsession with unrealistic weight loss goals is sickening
No you will not lose 30lbs that way. After a week or so your metabolism will go into starvation mode, your body will not build muscle because of the poor nutrition.
You should eat at least 1200 calories a day (firm)
you will probably lose muscle, because you need protein to maintain muscle. So simple answer is yes you will probably lose weight, but it will be the wrong weight, the lean muscle tissue. What you will be left with is fat, and a nasty case of malnuitrition.
go o na detox diet. look it up on the web. it gets rid of the fat and chemicals. and by the way a fruit diet will not work. You need to eat healthy food 6 times a day so your metabolism speeds up. Also drink lots of water, it helps a lot! good luck!
A better way would be to eat small meals scattered through out the day and make sure you have a balance of protein and the proper vitamins. Fruits, veggies, yogurt, chicken, turkey, etc. Reducing your calorie intake is a great way to lose weight but you don’t want to reduce the essential minerals and vitamins that your body needs.
To need to also make sure you have the proper protein and healthy carbs when you are working out or otherwise you might have some health issues.
yes, you will lose alot of weight on a fruit diet because i have tried it before. I lost about 2 lbs/ day. It works if you plan to be a fruitarian for your life. BUT if you get off the fruit diet and going back to your normal way of eating, you will pretty much gain back all your weight. So the best thing i would recommend is to lose weight slowly by eating healthy and do aerobic exercise consistantly. It’s doesn’t take days to gain all those weight, so when come to losing weight–GIVE IT TIME!
NO don’t go on “fad diets”
Home Gym
Look around you; there are plenty of opportunities to use items in your home to help you exercise. Set up your gym in front of the TV and you can burn calories without ever having to leave the comforts of your own home.
Here are some more ideas for your workout haven:
* A cushioned mat for stretches
* A variety of beginner-level exercise videos/DVDs
Tip: Most libraries have exercise videos that you can borrow for free.
* Exercise books and magazines
* A set of resistance bands
* A stability ball for strength and flexibility exercises
* A step for cardio workouts
* A sticky mat for yoga exercises
Random Tips
1. Add just one fruit or veggie serving daily. Get comfortable with that, then add an extra serving until you reach 8 to 10 a day.
2. Eat at least two servings of a fruit or veggie at every meal.
3. Resolve never to supersize your food portions — unless you want to supersize your clothes.
4. Make eating purposeful, not mindless. Whenever you put food in your mouth, peel it, unwrap it, plate it and sit. Engage all of the senses in the pleasure of nourishing your body.
5. Start eating a big breakfast. It helps you eat fewer total calories throughout the day.
6. Make sure your plate is half veggies and/or fruit at both lunch and dinner.
7. Eating out? Halve it, and bag the rest. A typical restaurant entree has 1,000 to 2,000 calories, not even counting the bread, appetizer, beverage and dessert.
8. When dining out, make it automatic: Order one dessert to share.
9. Use a salad plate instead of a dinner plate.
10. See what you eat. Plate your food instead of eating out of the jar or bag.
11. Eat the low-cal items on your plate first, then graduate. Start with salads, veggies, and broth soups, and eat meats and starches last. By the time you get to them, you’ll be full enough to be content with smaller portions of the high-calorie choices.
12. Instead of whole milk, switch to 1 percent. If you drink one 8-oz glass a day, you’ll lose 5 lbs in a year.
13. Juice has as many calories, ounce for ounce, as soda. Set a limit of one 8-oz glass of fruit juice a day.
14. Get calories from foods you chew, not beverages. Have fresh fruit instead of fruit juice.
15. Keep a food journal. It really works wonders.
16. Follow the Chinese saying: “Eat until you are eight-tenths full.”
17. Use mustard instead of mayo.
18. Eat more soup. The noncreamy ones are filling but low-cal.
19. Cut back on or cut out caloric drinks such as soda, sweet tea, lemonade, etc. People have lost weight by making just this one change. If you have a 20-oz bottle of Coca-Cola every day, switch to Diet Coke. You should lose 25 lbs in a year.
20. Take your lunch to work.
21. Sit when you eat.
22. Dilute juice with water.
23. Have mostly veggies for lunch.
24. Eat at home.
25. Limit alcohol to weekends.
26. Have a V8 or tomato juice instead of a Diet Coke at 3PM.
27. Doctor your veggies to make them delicious: Dribble maple syrup over carrots, and sprinkle chopped nuts on green beans.
28. Mix three different cans of beans and some diet Italian dressing. Eat this three-bean salad all week.
29. Don’t forget that vegetable soup counts as a vegetable.
30. Rediscover the sweet potato.
31. Use prebagged baby spinach everywhere: as “lettuce” in sandwiches, heated in soups, wilted in hot pasta, and added to salads.
32. Spend the extra few dollars to buy vegetables that are already washed and cut up.
33. Really hate veggies? Relax. If you love fruits, eat plenty of them; they are just as healthy (especially colorful ones such as oranges, mangoes and melons).
34. Keep seven bags of your favorite frozen vegetables on hand. Mix any combination, microwave, and top with your favorite low-fat dressing. Enjoy 3 to 4 cups a day. Makes a great quick dinner.
35. “The best portion of high-calorie foods is the smallest one. The best portion of vegetables is the largest one. Period.”
36. “I’ll ride the wave. My cravings will disappear after 10 minutes if I turn my attention elsewhere.”
37. “I want to be around to see my grandchildren, so I can forgo a cookie now.”
38. “I am a work in progress.”
39. “It’s more stressful to continue being fat than to stop overeating.”
40. Skipping meals: Many healthy eaters “diet by day and binge by night.”
41. Don’t “graze” yourself fat. You can easily munch 600 calories of pretzels or cereal without realizing it.
42. Eating pasta like crazy: A serving of pasta is 1 cup, but some people routinely eat 4 cups.
43. Eating supersize bagels of 400 to 500 calories for snacks
44. Ignoring “Serving Size” on the Nutrition Facts panel
45. Snacking on bowls of nuts. Nuts are healthy but dense with calories. Put those bowls away, and use nuts as a garnish instead of a snack.
46. Thinking all energy bars and fruit smoothies are low-cal
47. A smoothie made with fat-free milk, frozen fruit, and wheat germ
48. Have the smallest fast-food burger (with mustard and ketchup, not mayo) and a no-cal beverage. Then at home, have an apple or baby carrots.
49. A peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread with a glass of 1 percent milk and an apple
50. Precooked chicken strips and microwaved frozen broccoli topped with Parmesan cheese
You will only lose muscle tone eating like this, and whatever weight you lose will only be gained back when you start eating again. You need protein and you’re not getting any on fruit/veggie diets. Try adding lean chicken with whole grain toast or tortilla for AT LEAST one of your meals each day. Try a whole grain cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, too, to get your metabolism going. Restricting yourself to only fruit &/or veggies will probably cause you MAJOR intestinal distress (I’m trying to be polite here–but loose stools are very common in these types of diets). The daily rotation of weight machines is probably okay–really you should switch off arms one day and legs the next to rest your muscles–unless you’re looking for serious muscle growth. Cardio of 45 minutes per day is fine. You can do ab excersises every day. You should see results gradually. You may not want to focus on how much weight you’ll lose, but instead on what size you want to become–that way you won’t be a slave to the scale and you’ll be more likely to find success in fitting in certain clothes, etc.
I wouldn’t recommend it. Go to weight watches and loose weight on their program. You need protein.
Well i’m sure you will lose weight. But I can suggest something that everyone should do. I don’t know where you live but Super supplements is a fantastic health food store. Get a whole body detox, this will pull out all the toxins from your blood, organs, and more importantly in your case, the intestines and colon! The average person carrys around at least 20 pounds of fecal matter in their intestines, which makes the stomach pertrude and look fat. Eating lots of fruit is wonderdful because of all the antioxidants. Tomatos are the #1 source for that. And get some Green Vibrance, this is a greens drink that has all the vegetables that a person needs everyday. Do this and watch that fat melt! Oh and any vitimans you do get, make sure it is” whole food based”, other wise you will feel tired, the body will reject it. Good luck!
You’ll gain it all back, and then some, once you get back on your regular diet. You can’t live on fruit and turkey wraps for the rest of your life. Just cut down on your food and exercise regularly.
